i think the vocal song opening killed it.

but with netflix i forward through the song. it's actually quite good- and the episodes built on each other in a long arc. it's not like one week the shuttle pod gets destroyed and the next week it's like nothing happened. Instead, in one episode they flush out the crystals and the next 3 episodes they spend trying to refuel, etc. much better design than the random one thing after another of the other star trek series
